Our values
At ORTEMA, people are at the center – regardless of physical limitations or individual circumstances. Our goal is to offer all visitors the most accessible, comprehensible, and user-friendly experience possible. Therefore, we actively work to design our website in accordance with international standards (WCAG 2.1, Level AA) and the requirements of the European Accessibility Act as well as Germany’s Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0).
Where we stand – and where we want to go
We are currently undergoing a comprehensive optimization process to make our existing online shop more accessible in line with current technical possibilities and our corporate design.
In progress / already implemented:
- Adjusted color contrasts and font sizes for better readability
- Introduction of alternative texts for images
- Improved keyboard operability
- Screen reader compatibility
- Structured content and HTML semantics
- Optimized forms with understandable error messages
Our technical measures are aligned with the EN 301 549 v3.2.1 standard, the European requirement for accessible information and communication technologies.
